Recent studies have explored innovative treatments for myasthenia gravis (MG) with promising results. Silvestri (2025) reported on the use of efgartigimod, an Fc receptor inhibitor, showing significant improvement in daily living activities for patients with generalized MG. This treatment also allowed for a reduction or discontinuation of other medications like prednisone.

In cases of refractory MG, Beland et al. (2025) found that autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) led to sustained disease remission in a majority of patients, although it carries a risk of mortality.
